AGENTIC AI BREAKS THROUGH
Nearly 1 in 3 AI use cases reported in Q1 were agentic applications – the highest on record, up from 15% in Q4 2025. Most are clustered in Product & Service Operations, as banks move away from enterprise-wide copilots toward function-specific, workflow-embedded AI.

THE AI VENDOR LANSCAPE RESHUFFLES
Anthropic was the most referenced vendor in Q1, while a long-tail of specialized players beyond the hyperscalers now account for 68% of all deployments, largely targeting workflow-specific use cases across credit, anti-money laundering and treasury.

AI ROI REPORTING MATURES
38% of Q1 2026 use cases reported outcomes – and 15 of the 50 banks we track now disclose aggregate AI ROI. Structured, recurrent updates are becoming standard, with DBS and BNP Paribas both meeting their 2025 targets, while Santander kicked off quarterly reporting on its €1bn 2028 goal.
